FSD: USS Voyager NCC-74656: Deck 1 Overview

On Intrepid-class starships such as the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656, deck 1 is located at the top of the ship in the saucer section; it contains the main bridge, the captain's ready room, and the briefing room.

As on all Starfleet vessels, the systems of the USS Voyager, from environmental controls to the weapons systems, are coordinated from the bridge, which is located at the highest point of the ship.

Deck 1 is served by a single turbolift shaft which opens directly onto the bridge behind the tactical station. A standby turbocar can also be accessed from corridors that run round the back of the bridge from the captain's ready room to the briefing room. The area behind the rear wall of the bridge contains two escape pods, spacesuit lockers, a small office area, a weapons locker, and the deck 1 airlock. To the port and starboard of the bridge are two rooms that have almost identical shape; the windows in these rooms face the front of the vessel.

The starboard room is the captain's ready room, where private meetings can be held, and work or relax in close proximity to the bridge. The room on the port side serves as a briefing room where the senior staff can discuss important issues.
