The Type 8 is a late 24th century shuttlecraft, most likely an updated version to replace the Type 6. The
modified nacelles on the Type 8 suggests that it is capable of greater warp travel or warp travel for longer
durations. The technical specifications of the Type 8 are similar to the Type 6, about seven meters in length, a
weight of over 3 metric tons and Type 4 phaser emitters.
