The Type 11 is the most advanced and largest shuttle used by Starfleet that came into use by the late 24th century circa 2375. The Type 11 is 16 meters in length and equipped with warp and impulse engines. The shuttle is much more heavily armed than earlier models, with fore and aft torpedo launchers and phaser arrays. They can also fire tachyon bursts to disrupt shields. The shuttle is built to be able to dock with other vessels and has a docking hatch with magnetic clamps on the dorsal and ventral sides. The Type 11 has an aerodynamic design for atmospheric flight as well as medium-range interstellar travel.
