Orbital shuttlecraft were used by starbases and spacedocks in the late 23rd century and unlike the Travel Pods are capable of atmospheric flight. The Orbital Shuttle is eight meters in length and do not carry any armaments. The shuttle is only capable of impulse flight, mainly used within spacedocks or for surface to orbital base travel. They were most likely designed for the gradual replacement of the Travel Pods.
